WHY BOX NEEDS YOU?
Metadata is a key component of the Box Intelligent Cloud, enabling customers to add additional context to their files and transforming them into actionable content. In the current iteration, it's used to organize, discover, annotate, secure, and retain content. Metadata Platform adoption continues to grow exponentially as more Box products, like Shield, Relay, Forms, Sign, Governance, etc, rely on it internally and as our customers continue to build custom applications leveraging it.
But, we've only scratched the surface of what's possible. That's where you come in!
As we embark on the mission to deliver a next-generation Metadata Platform, we're looking for a Software Engineer III to join us. You'll have the opportunity to work with a team of talented, collaborative, and fun engineers, solving some of the toughest challenges, as we build out the future of intelligent content management in the cloud. The work you do will have an immediate and lasting impact on the productivity of millions of users, at some of the most important enterprises of our time.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop high-quality, scalable, and responsive software using modern technologies.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using industry best practices.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to onboard, share knowledge, and align on current responsibilities and priorities
- Participate in regular team meetings and manager 1:1s to ensure alignment, growth, and continuous improvement
- Create clear technical documentation, reusable patterns, and examples to scale knowledge across engineering teams
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) to accelerate development, research, documentation, and bug triage while maintaining high standards of quality and security
- Represent and advocate for Box Poland’s engineering excellence both internally and externally
- Contribute to defining and implementing engineering and operational standards across product teams
- Participate in our on-call rotation, available at all times while on-call to help respond to and triage any issues that arise.

WHO YOU ARE
- You have 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- You have deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript with at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., React), and strong HTML/CSS knowledge with responsive UIs; understanding of state management, accessibility, performance, and security basics.
- Having some backend coding experience with Node.js is required, and proficiency will be a big advantage.
- You have experience in designing and implementing APIs and services; solid grasp of system design and data modeling.
- Ability to design, build, and deploy high-quality software is a must.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
BONUS POINTS FOR
- You have experience deploying and operating microservices in a cloud environment.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Service (AWS) or Azure.
